The latest outrage in the residue of this past August’s “Unite the Right” white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, is in reaction to the trial of DeAndre Harris – the young Black man who was beaten by at least six white nationalist participants.

Although the video of his beating went viral, and the movements sprouted behind the undeniable injustice gained traction, Harris still found himself charged with a felony–later reduced to a misdemeanor. I mean… it’s one thing to not fully recognize the weight and national concern of the rally itself, but to prosecute those victim of hate crimes also???? Oh.

His trial happened this week, and today he was found not guilty.
We will not be silenced.

The trial of DeAndre Harris calls attention to the persecution of those who “get in the way” of white supremacists.
