In my humble opinion, Oprah is a gift to the world and the greatest living American. She is one of the black women whose sheer existence makes being a black woman such an honor for me.

Her achievements in media and philanthropy and just her entire essence, really, are nothing short of entirely remarkable, it’s kiiiiinda ridiculous (and a bit racist) to call upon her to save us from the hot white mess that is the Trump Presidency.

Firstly, haven’t we had enough of entertainers and TV stars? Haven’t we learned that lesson with Trump. The lesson that, maybe just maybe, celebrities without political experience aren’t best suited to run the country? Maybe ~professionals~ make better presidents. And even if being the President of the United States is something one could floruish at without political experience, why are so many so willing to blindly trust Oprah to share their political views or be any more progressive than other mainstream liberals.

To the second point, why should Harpo, a black woman, be responsible for cleaning up this WHITE PEOPLE mess? White folks were brazen AF voting for a fool and a rape-y racist, on what planet is it Oprah’s duty to right that wrong? Or Michelle Obama’s? Or any Person of Color?

I say this, friends: stop looking on TV for who can lead us and start looking in the mirror. Oprah is a super-human angel genius, it’s true, but what if we’re the next generation of magic, too?
