SNL isn’t known for its inclusion or representational diversity amongst its casts and inside their writer’s room, which is probably why Weekend Update co-host Michael Che has, in 2017, become the FIRST non-White head writer in the iconic show’s writer’s room. It’s almost the year 2018 of our Lord ‘Yoncé and Lorne Michaels has just now found a non-white writer who brings the funnies? Sure! Che’s Weekend Update co-host Colin Jost will be joining him as co-head writer, too.
