african folk art is re-imagined by afro-brazilian fine artist
Been watching Brazilian artist Robinho Santana for a while now and so pleased to feature his expressionistic work today. Santana’s work explores Black identity, in subject matter and composition, as he puts his own interpretation of African art as someone of the diaspora. Clearly drawing his inspiration from the diaspora, and the European artists who poached the early expressionism found in traditional African, like Picasso, Role Nesch, and Amedeo Modigliani, these pieces are exploratory as well as storytelling.
