get swept into a new dimension with gorgeous new ep by nao-approved soul singer tom tripp

November 15, 2017

After catching AFROPUNK alum NAO’s attention with his debut single “Aurelia”, which was later picked up for a full release through her record label, Little Tokyo Recordings, 22-year-old Tom Tripp is just getting started. Having teaching himself to produce his own music since he was 12, the reclusive singer/songwriter’s first solo EP, RED, is a culmination of years of impressively honed artistry.

Hailing from London’s Caledonia Road, Tripp has appeared on Mura Masa’s album alongside A$AP Rocky and others, which resulted in the electronic DJ inviting the soul singer to make his first ever live performance for Masa’s Coachella set in front of 10,000 fans. Now Tripp is ready to step out on his own, and, if the six track offering is any indication, he’s far more than ready for it. Reminiscent of the production of artists like The Weeknd, the reflective EP is a mature and dynamic listening experience that is proof this artist will be one to watch.
