Gotta catch ’em all!
Apparently that’s Justice Smith’s motto, as the 22-year-old continues to snag role after role following his breakout appearance on Netflix’s The Get Down. In addition to recently finishing filming on the YA novel adaptation Every Day and being tapped for a lead in the latest Jurassic Park installment, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, the young actor just nagged the lead roll in the first live action Pokemon film titled Detective Pikachu, according to Variety.
Not much else is known about the film, but Rob Letterman is also on board to direct it from a script by Nicole Perlman and Alex Hirsch. Great Detective Pikachu is the name of a Pokemon spinoff that follows a peculiar talking Pikachu and a boy named Tim Goodman, played by Smith, who work together to solve mysteries.
The Get Down might not be coming back for a season two, but looks like we will be seeing much more of Justice Smith in the future!
