To be Black, gay, and femme is to be unwanted by much of this world. But in Brazilian photographer F. Elias Neto’s world, it is to be powerful, beautiful, and enough. Neto’s latest project, “Ride The Wave”, explores the lives of black gay and effeminate men and their journey to self-acceptance. Taken in Serra Grande, a city in the South of Bahia, Brazil and featuring model Thalles Alberto, the series promotes the message, “You have the right to be whatever his want and whenever his want, besides being a story of acceptance to his own essence,” Neto explains.
