sci-fi author nnedi okorafor writing new ‘black panther: long live the king’ marvel series
Even after the sad discontinuation of the great Black Panther stories established by Ta-Nehisi Coates and Roxanne Gay, Marvel has no plans to leave the world of Wakanda anytime soon. With the anxious buzz of black fans ready to pounce on tickets for next year’s ‘Black Panther’ film, the Nerdist reveals that the comic book mecca is teaming up with World Fantasy, Hugo, and Nebula Award-winning novelist Nnedi Okorafor for ‘Black Panther: Long Live the King’. A biweekly comiXology exclusive set to be released in December. The story is said to pick up in the expansive world Coates established in his recent series and will find T’Challa’s fight against a terrifying new threat.
“Like Ta-Nehisi Coates and Roxane Gay, Nnedi Okorafor brings her storytelling and world building skills to Wakanda,” says ComiXology’s Chip Mosher.
