we need to talk about the men who protected harvey weinstein’s ass while they knew what he was up to

I’m super cynical and deeply suspicious of men in general, and people in power specifically. And the only element of the Harvey Weinstein “scandal” that’s even close to as heinous as Harvey’s actions themselves, are the men around him who kept quiet for so long.

And while women were involved in Weinstein’s systematic plots to isolate and then bully starlets into sexual acts, as survivor Dawn Dunning points out, those women employed by the Weinstein company were also victimized through their alleged forced participation.

No, what’s most stunning to me are the Hollywood heroes like Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, and Russel Crowe, who all seemed to be in the know about Weinstein’s alleged abuse.

Earlier this week when the “Hollywood Elite” finally came forth with their own personal experiences with Harvey, Affleck, a man with his own alleged history of sexual harassment in the workplace, tried to wiggle out of his connection to abuse in this shallow statement:

Long-time Weinstein whistleblower Rose McGowan was quick to call to memory the time where she told Affleck about Weinstein’s conduct:
As of this morning, McGowan has been banned on Twitter.

As if that weren’t bad enough, a former New York Times reporter also claims that Affleck’s BFF Matt Damon and actor Russell Crowe were also pawns in Weinstein’s elaborate sexual abuse machine. In an explosive story by Vulture’s Tolly Wright, Sharon Waxman, founder of the Wrap, alleges that while working on a story to uncover Weinstein’s abuses, she was contacted “directly” by Damon and Crowe who attempted to dispel the rumors and pressure her to drop the story.

Are we really to believe that the cover-up stopped there?
