video premiere: take an ethereal journey to self-discovery in rock/soul artist denitia’s video for “bound to happen // waiting”

The groundbreaking experience of enlightenment that is New York-based singer/songwriter Denitia‘s latest EP Ceilings begins with the soothing sounds of “Bound To Happen,” the first half of the artist’s new two-part video premiering exclusively with AFROPUNK today.

The video is a melodic journey to understanding one’s place in the world, a self-love anthem carried by the empowering chorus of “Waiting” in the second half: “we live in sunshine / we live in pain / looking for a reason to give it all away / looking for a reason / looking for a change.”

A genre-defying artist who modernizes both rock and soul, Denitia first put out a solo EP in 2010. She has since been a member in a number of projects under different aliases, and has performed with artists like Haim, Jessie Ware, and even Travis Scott & Vic Mensa. With “Bound To Happen // Waiting” and Ceilings as a whole, Denitia is back with more confidence than ever, confidence you are bound to feel boosted as you watch soul-striking video.
