jessica williams to write & star in showtime comedy series, she’ll play a sci-fi writer

2 Dope Queens co-host Jessica Williams (The Daily Show) is set to write and star in a new Showtime sci-fi series directed by Jim Strouse. Deadline.com learned that Williams and Strouse are co-writing the so-far untitled series which will follow “African American aspiring science fiction writer who comes of age in Brooklyn”.

Strouse and Williams have previously worked together on The Incredible Jessica James (now on Netflix). Rumor has it that Annapurna TV is in talks with Showtime to come aboard as a producer for the upcoming series.
