HBO is turning one of our favorite podcasts, 2 Dope Queens into a special series. Hosted by Comedian-actresses Jessica Williams
(The Daily Show, The Incredible Jessica James) and Phoebe Robinson (“You Can’t Touch My Hair: And Other Things I Still Have to
Explain”
), the HBO adaptation will be for four hour-long variety specials. The original version feature stand-up performances, confessional dialogues with special guests and explore current events, social justice, sex, race, and more, so seems fair to assume that the specials could appear in a similar format.

“Jessica Williams and Phoebe Robinson prove you can be hilarious and socially conscious at the same time,” HBO programming president Casey Bloys said in a statement. “We are looking forward to bringing these very funny, talented women and their unique points of view to the HBO audience.”

No word on when the HBO specials are set to air, but you can catch new episodes of 2 Dope Queens Tuesdays on WNYC.
