black girl nerds founder and her team will be in the house for comic con!
Get ready! Black Girl Nerds is taking over Comic Con once again, covering all of the latest in pop culture entertainment from panels to parties! The founder and managing editor of the podcast and multimedia platform for all things Black girl and nerdy, Jamie Broadnax, will be part of theĀ “Writing About Comics: Fan To Pro” panel on Friday, July 21st, and both the “From Fandom To Creator” and “We Are All Heroes” panels on Saturday, July 22nd. This year’s Comic Con takes place in San Diego starting Wednesday, July 18th.
In addition, the 3rd Annual Black Girl Nerds of Color Meetup with Racialicious is taking place Friday July 21st at 7pm PT. The BGNOC Meetups, which have taken place in both San Diego and New York Comic Con, have featured celebrity guests such as Ryan Coogler and Orlando Jones in the past.
“I’m at the event as a managing editor of my team of journalists who are covering all of kinds of events from panels about indie comic creators to the new Star Trek Discovery series with Sonequa Martin-Green,” says Broadnax. “I’m also on 3 panels myself where I chat about comics journalism, diversity and fandom culture. Should be a lot of fun!”
Based on the video below from the BGN appearance last year, it sure should!:
