check out gucci’s all-black campaign for pre-fall 2017, “soul scene”

When Gucci released a series of “audition” videos for it’s pre-fall campaign on it’s Instagram page in January, rumors swirled that it might feature an all-Black cast given that every model featured was Black.

Now the brand confirms the buzz, revealing the campaign titled “Soul Scene” which includes only Black models. Featuring plenty of red, black and green on vibrant prints, SUPER.selected reports that “the campaign draws inspiration from iconic Malian photographer Malick Sidibé, who often photographed parties in Bamako, Mali. Gucci was also inspired by England’s Northern Soul movement, a musical era influenced by African American soul music.”

The campaign is right in line with the bold new direction the brand has taken over the last few seasons, and we’re here for it! Check out some images from the campaign below:
