March 27, 2017

According to the Hollywood Reporter, ‘Highlander’ creator Gregory Widen is writing the script for a new film about Yasuke, the first black-skinned samurai in Japan. The action-drama will focus on known history and mythology of Yasuke’s life and how he became the only African to reach such a rank in the feudal Japan. Michael De Luca and Stephen L’Heureux are producing the film, jointly, under Solipsist Films and De Luca Productions. No word yet on when the Black Samurai project will hit the big screen.
