new music: london-based r&b/soul singer aaron taylor drops funky, loved-up new single, ‘breakfast’
London-based eclectic soul singer Aaron Taylor is back with a brand new single called ‘Breakfast’. The lead track from Taylor’s latest EP ‘Better Days—a follow-up to this year’s ‘Still Life’ EP—‘Breakfast’ is a playful neo-soul track about love languages, getting what you need, and being satisfied. “Breakfast allegorically details the need for receiving love in the way we like and need” Aaron says, “Love is a strange thing. Our definitions of it differ and yet we claim to give and receive the same thing.”

Aaron Taylor on the ‘Better Days’ artwork:
“Some will wonder about the the ‘Better Days’ artwork. Such figurines were, and still are, commonplace on mantelpieces in black homes, placed as memoirs by the older windrush-generation of better days and perhaps in some ways to remind us of ‘the expected ideal’. It’s ironic that these figures of Aryan perfection contrast the characters sung about in ‘Better Days’. The figurines displayed are far less likely to fall victim of the worst of times. They hold the same instruments, but know not the songs we sing and I found that cultural juxtaposition striking.”
