new music: experimental soul singer/producer am!r drops eclectic, genre-bending ep “futurepunksoul”

September 15, 2016

FuturePunkSoul is the debut EP from AM!R, a New York based producer and vocalist. The young talent has already produced with and for Sia and Panic! At The Disco in his short career, but has decided to release solo material. The EP includes the recent Hype Machine-topping “Dirty Whisper” and “Parachute”, co-produced by 1-900 of ASTR as well as two previously unreleased tracks. A sultry tenor and groovy bass help introduce listeners to a vibe that’s currently missing from alternative soul-based electronic music right now. What emerges from the EP is a raunchy and sensual soundscape, bristling with digital electronic touches that make it dirty, electronic soul/ R&B music for our time. AM!R’s first body of work spells out what’s undoubtedly a very bright future for the young artist. Streaming is available below.
