netflix & spike lee announce “she’s gotta have it” series

Nola Darling is back! In Spike Lee’s first joint feature film joint, the directing veteran joins indie titan Netflix in a contemporary update to his debut film, “She’s Gotta Have It.” Now, over 30 years since its release, Nola Darling, Mars Blackmon, and company will grace our computer screens once more in a 10-episode series. Although the original film was Spike Lee’s brainchild, it is apparently his wife Tonya Lewis Lee who is to be credited for bringing the series idea to Netflix and sealing the deal. No word yet on when the series will be released, but knowing that this project is on the horizon is more than enough for the moment.
