August 16, 2016

Today we’re premiering the latest and the greatest from Philadelphia’s own Johnny Popcorn. The electrifying group is back on the radar with their explosive new tracks, and it’s got us talking.

For those fans of Prince, TV on the Radio, Gorillaz, or Gnarls Barkley- this is just the premiere you’ve been waiting for. With the latest release of their new track ‘Coming Home’, the team solidifies their unique sound, while prefacing their upcoming, full-length album Totem Pole. The group- featuring vocalists Hezekiah and Jani Coral, guitarist/producer Lloyd Alexander, bassist Freshie, drummer Clayton Crothers- brilliantly, and rhythmically blends soul, rock, and hip hop, to create a thrilling listening experience- keeping listeners on their toes as they navigate through all the varying sounds and genres.

‘Coming Home’ is a perfect example of their alluring style; while preserving the anthemic qualities of the much-loved rock track, their cadenced delivery and passionate lyrics falls right into the laps of both soul and hip hop- creating a nuanced package that feeds many of our musical desire.

In their own words: “Coming Home” is about the drive to overcome your obstacles even when you know there’s more work to be done the next day. Through life’s twist and turns, you sometimes lose your way, but the sweet smell of victory is so close you can taste it. That’s where you dig deep and find something really special. “I’m still running, I’m gone do it. Lighters up I’m coming home to you.”

As the release of Totem Pole (on Sept. 30th)steadily approaches, Johnny Popcorn could not have chosen a better way to reintroduce their fiery vibes, and set the tone for their impending anthems. Pre-order the surefire hit here, and keep your eyes and ears peeled for what’s to come. Look out for their show dates, and check out the powerful ‘Coming Home’ below. You’re welcome!
