video premiere: lakuta’s new track ‘bata boy’ provides a multicultural solidarity with the lgbtq community
As Brighton- based ensemble Lakuta prepares for the release of their latest album ‘Brothers & Sisters’ (Aug. 12th) we are premiering the video for their debut single ‘Bata Boy’- an upbeat anthem for LGBT equality and individualism. Lakuta tells us: “Bata Boy is an empowering anthem, a protest song calling out prejudice, small-mindedness and hypocrisy in light of recent attacks on immigrants and the LGBT community in the UK and abroad. We are the children of immigrants, and as a band, our music celebrates the cultural diversity of Britain. It’s time to mobilize – step up and say “We will not stand for this!” Produced by the acclaimed Nick Faber, ‘Bata Boy’ sets an exciting and afrocentric tone for the upcoming album.
