July 5, 2016

“My art is an expression of the ephemeral, the importance of the moment, the desire to retain influence and the notion of beauty…”- Founded in 2012, by visual artist and designer Niapsou Di, the street couture label Naipsou Designs has been working to provide a thrilling, visually appealing interpretation of the African diaspora. With it’s edgy take on the organic textures of the culture, Niapsou Designs reclaims the trajectory of the fashion industry, while reminding the public of the beauty and excitement of African culture, resource, and influence. Their Fall/Winter 16 collection ‘Uniform’ makes bold an playful statements with its vibrant color palette, unisex cuts, and hand-painted depictions of black characters the brand is calling The Very Black Possee—an unapologetic representation of blackness and black identity.
