afropunk premiere: hip-hop collective bon voyage’s ‘don’t tread on me’ gets sultry batuk remix

July 27, 2016

Our first premiere today comes from hip-hop house collective Bon Voyage (Brooklyn rapper Shamon Cassette and Dublin producers The Supreme and Fono) and a remix for their energetic single ‘Don’t Tread On Me’ by South African-based Batuk. The dirty house remix exudes that mid-summer, long night sexiness without the $15 drinks and sweaty club go-ers. “The remix is by Batuk which is a collective from South Africa made up of Manteiga, Aero Manyelo and myself. Shamon Cassette from Bon Voyage and me have long been homies and partners so it was a huge pleasure to bless Don’t Tread on Me remix with the Batuk flavour. Bon Voyage!” Batuk frontman singer-songwriter/producer Spoek Mathambo tells AFROPUNK.
