WORDZ MC is an independent trans rapper from Philadelphia who’s trying to reinvigorate the art and poetry of “true” hip-hop. An honorable, lofty, if not pretentious, goal that too many rappers set out to undertake, but there’s definitely something about WORDZ’s music that is encouraging, even hopeful. The grit of hip-hop culture runs throughout his each of his lyrically honest songs and where many emcees choose aggression, there is a calm understanding instead. Check him out, below.
