feature: cape town-based blues musician manny walters bewitches us with majorly impressive fusion of folk, funk, and soul

May 11, 2016

Manny Walters is a rock-n-soul singer who comes all the way from Cape Town, South Africa. Recognizable by his distinctly rough, but soulful, voice and the roots-y blues sound of his instrumentation, Walters creates a truly unique sound in a historic genre. Alongside very clear roots in folk and blues, Walters’ music has undertones of reggae, soul, and funk. He’s definitely worth checking out, so listen to some of our favorites from him down below. And If you’re in the Cape Town area, Manny is playing a show at The Nest Space (Jam That Session), Saturday, May 28.
