new music: the anti-job’s “someone else inside you” is an indie rock aria #soundcheck

An intoxicatingly slow build leads from a simple acoustic guitar line to a heartfelt plea: “this passion runs deep.” The Anti-Job’s stunning control of melody and mood turns “Someone Else Inside You” into a miniature indie-rock aria. Somehow eschewing the technical pretensions that often accompany this kind of bombast, the trio led by composer Amanda Jones, use a more stripped down language to convey an explosion of hope, pain, and maybe even transcendence.
