March 14, 2016

MJ Fontaine is an East London-based mixed-media artist and holistic healer. For the past 15 years, Fontaine has been passionately raising awareness about the benefits of personal development through holistic practices and the arts. “…I embrace are heavily influenced by the rituals and practices of Indigenous cultures and the connection of healing using storytelling and nature which I incorporate into my artwork, online courses, workshops and women circles.”

MJ’s first solo exhibition, “Legacy”, features work created by the artist between 2011 and 2016 and documents her work with women from around the world, including in Turkey, Somalia, India, and St. Lucia. The pieces reflect ‘internal inheritance’ (such as insight, wisdom, humility, and love) passed down to women of color. The exhibition is hosted by Earth Tone Arts at Nooks Gallery – 55 Leytonstone High Road, London E15, March 17 – March 24.
