Check out Cape Town photographer and storyteller Imraan Christian’s striking series “Intersection of the Black Imagination.” The series, an experimental collaboration with sister Haneem Christian, explores a metaphysical approach to lessening the patriarchal divide between black men and womxn. “It is true that the white supremacist capitalist patriarchal society that we live in fundamentally interacts with black men and black women differently, and our lived experiences seems divisible almost indefinitely. But, perhaps where we intersect is at the imagination of ourselves and each other. Perhaps when we allow ourselves to dream, and remember who we once were, for a moment we connect and intersect on a plane of existence beyond the constraints of white supremacy,” Christian tells AFROPUNK
