feature: nigerian-born roye okupe gears up to release part two of his african superhero comic, exo: the legend of wale williams.
A few months back we featured Part One of Nigerian-born writer and creator Roye Okupe’s, ‘EXO: The Legend of Wale Williams,’ a sci-fi superhero story set in 2025 Africa. The comic centers around a man named Wale Williams who comes into the possession of super-powers after his father goes missing. His task? To defeat the sinister extremist group The CREED and their leader, Oniku. “My goal is to create superhero stories based on diverse characters, from parts of the world that don’t get enough attention when it comes to said stories,” says Okupe. Part Two is a full-fledge graphic novel, set it clock in at 145 pages. While production costs have already been covered, Okupe is once again running a Kickstarter to help him pay for colored printing. To learn more about his campaign, click here.
