João Lima is a 19-year-old photographer from Brazil. His series “MAGÁ” plays with monochromatic and complementary color schemes that vibrate against model Marilia Gabriela’s deep and radiant complexion. The contrasting colors compliment each other in a surprising, organic way that highlights the unique textures captured within the frame.

“”MAGÁ” is about the beauty of Afro-Brazilian woman. Highlighting the contrast of skin color with colorful city of Salvador, the photographer conveys the wonder of being black,” Lima told AFROPUNK.
