new music: stream katherine hepburn’s ukulele-laden debut ‘over easy’ #soundcheck

Meet Katherine Hepburn (no, not that one, her name was spelled with an a…). Her debut LP, Over Easy is a live recording on Youth Owned Records, a small label that focus on new music by teen artists. The young singer songwriter makes beautiful heartfelt songs accompanied by her ukulele and a rhythm section. Equal bits Florence and the Machine and Morrissey, her songs are minimal but emotional; charming in their unadorned honesty. Katherine Hepburn’s rich voice dominates the recordings, which show no small amount of promise.
