Take a look at this beautiful photo series by photographer Christy Marie (a photographer based in Tampa, FL, who specializes in portraiture and street photography). The empowering series is entitled ‘Goddess’ and it’s all about self-love among black women. Marie tells us: “These women have at some point in my life, have thoroughly inspired me in my path of spreading and promoting self-love among black women. Self-love is something that I have struggled with for quite some time as a child up through my adolescent years. I am grateful to have finally stepped into my own light and embraced myself whole-heartedly. Something I have seen all these do from throughout the time I have known them. I want—I feel the need to share the light they have poured into my soul intentionally or unintentionally.” Explore below.
