Take a look at the breathtaking photography of Cameroonian artist Angèle Etoundi Essamba. The acclaimed Amsterdam-based photographer will be honored in Dakar, Senegal, next year (February 18th to March 30th 2016) with a retrospective exhibition at the Theodore Monod African Art Museum – 30 years of photographic work centered on the theme of the African woman. Essamba’s camp state, “It is a first time for the photographer who has never seen so many of her works in one same place and on the other hand, it is also the first time that the museum honors a female artist in such way.” Explore her work below.
