At the beginning of this month, College student Alicia Daniella posted the following message on her twitter page: “#IWillNotApologizeForBeingDarkSkin.” Now that hash tag has spread across social networks and is giving dark skin women and men an opportunity to celebrate their complexions and encourage others (insecure of their skin color and affected by the “light is right” culture that plagues black communities worldwide) to love the skin they were born with.
