video premiere: the “raw and verite” visual for experimental mc eddington again’s ‘lyft’ (prod.friendzone)

October 27, 2015

Today we’re premiering the new visual from experimental MC Eddington Again – ‘Lyft’. The track (which features on the LA based musician’s ‘Masturgrape‘ mixtape) is a collaboration with Oakland production duo Friendzone – the first beat they ever made – and is described by Eddington Again as a song about “self-acceptance and embracing the revolution within yourself”. In regards to the ETA directed visual, he tells us: “In this video I really let my guard down and embraced my queer spirit openly. But, this song’s not just about lgbtq or poc pride, it’s more about encouraging of sincerity and empathy. That’s part of the reason we decided to shoot it raw and verite, like kerouac’s spontaneous prose or even lil b’s based style. I embraced myself on this trip and when I watch the video I can feel how genuine it was. The director even edited it the night we got home by straight dropping down footage on the timeline.” Watch below.
