Today we’re premiering the new video from Run By The Gun – the “transmedia project involving a comic book series, music and live performances to tell the story of a NYC band struggling to succeed on their own terms in a city that eats young and old alike”, as stated by creators Rey Miranda and Zambia Greene. In regards to the ‘My Father’s Will’ visual, Rey Miranda tells us: “It was time for Run By The Gun to release a music video. Due to the nature of the RBG project, a comic book series, recorded music and live performances, the first music video begged to be animated. Animation is inherently expensive, so we knew we needed artists and crafts people that shared our vision for the video but also the expertise to execute the animation on a severely limited budget. Enter Jason Li. Jay works on the TV show ‘Archer’ and during the show’s hiatus, Jay agreed to produce RBG’s music video. Zambia Greene and I credit the success of the music video to Jay and his team. Josh Grubbs, the project manager, worked tirelessly on animating the video. David Kuettel, the script writer, helped flesh out Zambia’s and my ideas for ‘My Father’s Will. ‘My father’s Will’ follows one of our comic book characters, Jonah Gunn as he chases after his muse, Sarah. The journey that Jonah travels on symbolizes the rocky relationship he and Sarah continue to have. Both know the relationship is doomed, but both choose to test fate – all in, playing the hands dealt to them.” Check out the video below, and head to Le Poisson Rouge (158 Bleeker St, NY) on Wednesday October 7 to celebrate the release of the new Run By the Gun EP and comic issue (FYI Cosplayers get in for free).
