feature: the stripped-back portraits of atlanta based photographer alex d. rogers

October 26, 2015

Check out the striking photography of Alex D. Rogers – an Atlanta based portrait photographer who got the photography bug after documenting a Janelle Monáe concert. Rogers says: “I ordered a new camera specifically to shoot a series of shows she was playing in town. I was hooked, then.” As you’ll see below, a lot of the New York native’s images are stripped back setups that allow the beauty of his subjects to shine with no distractions: “Sometimes (like today) it’s just the subject and myself. Those are my favorite. There’s no fuss about hair, makeup and wardrobe. Some subjects are more comfortable without those distractions.”
