video premiere: alt songstress elle pierre’s debut video – for her afro-house influenced track, ‘give it up’

September 15, 2015

Today we’re premiering the first music video from Brooklyn based alt R&B singer-songwriter Elle Pierre – ‘Give It Up’ (her latest collaboration with Nigerian producer The GTW, known for his uptempo productions and African/Brazilian influences). Her camp state. “Directing what is also her first crowd-funded project, Elle has visualized her heavily Afro-House influenced track by incorporating African fashion, dance and art. At the same time she has illustrated the central theme of ‘Give it Up’ – a song that celebrates men in a world that constantly tells us that “niggas ain’t shit.” With the song, and now accompanying video, Elle wants to change that mentality and encourage women to give praise and encouragement to their lovers as they pursue their dreams”. Elle tells us, “I hope ‘Give it Up’ inspires men to be ambitious and generous lovers and informs them that their efforts are appreciated”. Watch below.
