fashion: the new women’s collection from ghanaian born designer jesse frimpong’s streetchief label

September 8, 2015

Check out the new collection from indie brand STREETCHIEF – the Canadian brand founded and directed by Ghanaian born (and Toronto based) designer Jesse Frimpong. The pre-fall collection is titled ‘Nima Girls’ (named after a town in Ghana) and the lookbook images were shot by photographer William Ukoh, aka Willy Verse, and feature model Jessica Bentu – with hair and makeup by Philippa Frimpong.  In our interview with the designer last year, Frimpong stated that the indie label is a reflection of a person “torn between two cultures” and an “extension of inspiration for street youth to pursue their talents and passions while discovering their inner chiefs, prestige, and royalty”.
