afropunk premiere: rock out with roots singer nikki hill’s brand new track – “struttin'”
Rock out! Today we’re premiering the new single from Nikki Hill – “Struttin’”. The Carolina Roots singer (recognised for her quasi-retro style and blend of Southern blues, rebel punk, and rockabilly) tells us, “I wanted to write a song with heavy rhythm guitar hits and even heavier groove. While we were on tour, I was listening to a lot of Otis Redding, Rolling Stones, Staples Singers, Ike and Tina Turner, and AC/DC. I think it definitely has an influence on my sound, and it’s just so much fun to play live!” Listen to her powerhouse vocals below.
