new music: ‘know me better’ – the beat heavy & vulnerable debut from swedish soulstress mabel

July 15, 2015

Listen to the debut single from 19-year-old newcomer Mabel – ‘Know Me Better’. The track was recorded during her time studying music production in Sweden, a country where she has lived most of her life – as well as Spain and London. The singer (daughter of Neneh Cherry and Massive-Attack producer Cameron McVey) started writing songs at the age of five and her camp tells us that her musical influences comes from turn-of-the-century Soul, beat heavy sounds with vulnerable lyrics, and musicians such as Ms. Lauryn Hill. Check out her debut below.
