new music: faada freddy releases new album, ‘the gospel journey’

Listen to ‘The Gospel Journey’, the first solo album from Senegalese musician Faada Freddy. Recorded in Dakar, the album is influenced by the gospel, soul, and reggae vinyls that were played throughout Freddy’s childhood. One of the standout things about the debut has to be the absence of actual instruments – the album features only voice and “body percussion”.
