free download: the golden hippie’s debut ep ‘flower on the sun’

March 4, 2015

In as little as four songs, indie-pop singer The Golden Hippie transports you to a free spirited place with honest lyrics and airy vocals. Born in Phoenix, Arizona as Marissa Jack, she is best known for collaborating with Prince on his song ‘Art Official Cage’ from his Art Official Age album. On The Golden Hippie’s ‘Flower On The Sun’ EP, she sings of relationship strife and the struggle to be free and true to yourself. “Cuz we joined the stampede/And we can’t get out/Wolves dressing like sheep/Wanna let it out let it out” she sings on the track ‘Human Animals’. Another track ‘Dancing Glorious’ is an upbeat dance track with a steady drum beat and hand claps. With The Golden Hippie’s soaring vocals and a message of sensual freedom, this is a perfect pop track. A strobe-filled music video for the track enhances its lyrics.
