The 24 Hour Project will see participants all over the world sharing their city’s stories through one photo every hour for 24 hours on March 21st, 2015, and the Black Lives Matter organization want to create a #BlackLivesMatter track of the 24 Hour Project. The 24 Hour Project is a street photography project that seeks to document every-day life in multiple cities during one single day. Participants all over the world will share their city’s stories through one photo every hour for 24 hours on March 21st, 2015. This year’s theme is ‘The Human Condition’, and we want to narrow the focus to uplifting black life in this critical moment in history.

What we’re asking artists:
On March 21st, 2015, upload one photo per hour, every hour, starting at 00:00 AM and ending at 23:59 PM in your city to your IG and/or Twitter account. You can take photos of the beauty of black folks, the hardships we endure, the power we possess, the struggles we face or any topic related to black life and #BlackLivesMatter. All you have to do is register online and on March 21st, tag your ‪#‎24HourProject‬ photos with‪#‎BLM247‬ on Instagram and/or Twitter. With that you will join an international community of photographers documenting the topic of black lives during this ‪#‎YearOfResistance‬. You can make all 24 photos #BLM247 photos, or you can choose to do some #BLM247 photos and some general #24HourProject photos – it’s up to you. Be creative, be spontaneous, and be safe in your quest to take photos for 24 consecutive hours!

.

BLM hopes to create a travelling exhibition of these photos at the close of the project, and will reach out to individual artists whose work is chosen to be included. If you are interested in helping fund, sponsor or host one of these exhibitions, please contact us at blacklivesmatter@gmail.com.
