black history month: faces from the new civil rights movement – #itooamharvard photo campaign by harvard’s black students

February 10, 2015

Check out I, Too, Am Harvard, the photo campaign highlighting the faces and voices of black students at Harvard College. On their site, the organisation states: “Our voices often go unheard on this campus, our experiences are devalued, our presence is questioned– this project is our way of speaking back, of claiming this campus, of standing up to say: We are here. This place is ours. We, TOO, are Harvard.” Explore some images from their campaign, below; and watch the video of last year’s #ITooAmHarvard Blacktivism Conference. The conference saw 250 student leaders from across the US meet at Harvard University to mobilize and exploring issues specific to Black collegiate students.
