new music: expect the unexpected from soul star mozaic…

November 12, 2014

Through various crowd funding sites, millions of music fans all over the globe have been given the opportunity to fund music from indie artists who lack the support of a huge machine. Floridian artist MoZaic launched her Kickstarter back in the Spring. The goal was to raise $1500. By July 7th, MoZaic had more than the $1500 requested and on November 4th, Unexpected Turns will be officially released and available for available for purchase both digitally and in physical cd format.

Soul singer MoZaic tells AFROPUNK.com what the crowd funding experience was like:
“It was very vulnerable actually. I’ve been brought up to be very independent. So, having to ask for help with that was hard. I’m grateful that my supporters were there for me though. It was a growing experience”

On October 14, MoZaic premiered her visuals for “Unexpected Turns Part 1: The Prologue” (first part of a four part series and featuring some pretty amazing SpongeBob Squarepants pj’s.)
“I got them for Christmas from my family. Anyone that knows me knows I LOVE SpongeBob. So yea, it was a gift. I’m actually watching it now…”

The video makes it clear that this is the beginning of a long winding journey for the rising star, as she embarks upon her uncertain journey…acoustic guitar in tow.

So when can we look forward to the following three parts?

“They should be coming out over the next month. We’re actually doing a short film premiere of all of them at a cool venue out here. We made all 4 parts into a movie! You can expect 4 different songs. 3 will be my upcoming singles. Talking about my experiences with love, self worth, and just pure enjoyment of life”

Earlier this month, the electro-soul songstress released otherworldly, synth led single “Run Back”.

November 4th, MoZaic will finally be releasing her Unexpected Turns EP, nine tracks of indulgently chill, atmospheric funky soul.

What can fans expect to hear on Unexpected Turns?

“They can expect to hear about real life experiences of revelation and strength. This project definitely came out of a lot I’ve gone through In the past few years. So I’m happy to be able to release that and hopefully connect with others who feel the same. I want them to remember that no matter the unexpected turns it is still important to continue their journey towards their dreams. Never give up. Never.”
