When listening to Breaking Codes, Claire Renée’s classically trained ear is evident. The EP is a remarkably fluid listen. From the boldly, futuristic sounding intro laced with breathy vocals to the dangerously delightful “Lickable” and eventually rounding off with the drum-led “Telepath”, there is nothing wishy washy or overly done throughout the entire EP. The amorous collection confidently dances in subtlety. Musical maestro Bagir-Ba has created a wistful, starry-eyed soundscape for the soulful songstress to vibe to and accentuates Claire’s sultry air.
