Kelsey’s a professional cellist who was “discovered” by Nappy Roots. More so, she possesses a very breathtaking story. Raised in a Jehovah’s Witness community by a black dad and white mom in North Carolina, Kelsey had to escape through her bedroom window in order pursue her true love — the cello. As a means to pay for books and rent, she stripped, which Kelsey talks about with gutsy poise and honesty. She is just so compelling.
