dopeness from swedish mercedes-benz fashion week stockholm a/w 2014

February 11, 2014

Swedish Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Stockholm A/W 2014 delivered yet another smashing fashion exhibition. the event brought with it a vibrant atmosphere and stylish people alike and a wonderful opportunity to illustrate swedish style from runway to the streets. Swedish style is hugely minimalistic and characterized by solid colors and less print. most women tend to be clad in body-hugging loose fit garments, while the men keep to a concoction of casual, preppy and navy style. of course the navy style could be attributed to the small islands that make up the city and close the proximity to the seaside.
The Swedes try to maintain their clean cut style but with the blogosphere, the influences from every corner of the world are quite visible. The Swedes however incorporate these influences into a distinctively Swedish manner. its worth noting that black and white are the most dominating colours.

Having mentioned the runway, all the brands I had the opportunity to check out, showed a tremendous amount of talent and innovation. all the pieces told their own stories and bared testimony to creative genius of the designers. I was mainly taken aback by Caroline Kummelstedt, Beckmans College of Design, Tiger of Sweden, Diana Orving, Greta, Mes Dames, Army Of Me, Back, Hunkydory, and Ida Klamborn. You can check the rest of the brands at:
