ap fashion: blazin’ blazers and cozy sweaters

November 18, 2013

Well, what can I say… global warming is really still working itself. Crazy to think that it is almost 60 degrees in the middle of November. To combat being too hot or freezing cold, I dress in layers because although it may be 60 degrees in the morning, after 4pm the weather is like “SURPRISE!” and drops down to the thirties. Always be prepared!
How to get by in this crazy weather:
Wearing long cozy knit sweaters or a vibrant blazer underneath a heavier wool jacket is a great solution to this very bi polar weather. Better safe than sorry. The layering is perfect– blazer under a jacket does the trick or a plush knit sweater under your favorite winter coat. Even when you take off your heavier jacket– a blazer or sweater will still keep you warm.

Grab a white long sleeve tee and a beaded Masai necklace and dazzle your outfit or rock a collared shirt, knit pull over and a long sweater coat. My favorite finds are below. Vashtie, Theophilus London, and MIA wear blazers and sweaters well along with a few others—love the color and clothing combinations, making a simple blazer or sweater unique to personal style. Investing in a long sweater coat for your wardrobe is worth the spend also. They are perfect for layering because there is stretch in the arm area– sometimes when you wear a blazer and jacket you can feel a bit stuffy. A sweater coat solves that problem—try a thrift store—I rummaged through my mom’s closet and found one for myself. For daily posts, follow
