ap fashion: overalls back at it again?

Overalls were the rave again this summer, along with Jellies, jersey style shirts, grillz and bucket hats… At AfroPunk Fest 2013, Bayli, lead singer of the Skins wore a very fabulous pair of overalls — a light washed and bleached jean overall, colorfully bejeweled on the front and pocket edges — a cute way to re vamp my favorite clothing item from my childhood.

Although, unbuckling overalls every time you need to use the bathroom may be a hassle, you cannot deny that they are incredibly cute and can be worn in multiple ways! Pair a denim overall with a silver oxford and a white tee, undo one strap rock, a sports bra with sneakers and a beanie, or pair jean overalls with Jeffrey Campbell’s, a bright under shirt, infinity scarf and a bomber jacket for the fall season.

Shoes can make the statement with a pair of overalls — regress to your childhood years with sneakers or spice up the simple jean overall with heels and a blazer or sexy bomber jacket and a patterned clutch.

The alternative to overalls: the very popular romper or jumper. Public Service Announcement: girls, be sure that if and when you buy a shorts romper, your butt cheeks are covered (I’ve seen to many females walking around exposed).
Nasty Gal, Urban Outfitters, American Apparel and my favorite, thrift stores, have sold various versions of jumper or rompers in the past months. Go for a simple black jumper for the fall, pointed toe heel and gold chains, with wine red lipstick and a slicked back updo.
Also, guys, don’t be afraid to commit to a pair of overalls – pair them with an undershirt, some loafers, and you are good to go. Check out the photo. This guy wears denim overalls with a plaid shirt and what seem to be velvet slippers.

Definitely an item to add to your fall wardrobe.
